Sinusitis

I didn't think there was such a thing either, but apparantly, this is what Charlie has had for the past five weeks. It's just a freaky name for a sinus infection. I feel so bad for the kid...I just thought he had a cold that wouldn't go away. He's been battling low grade fevers, an annoying cough and a constant runny nose for over a month! I guess I can't be accused of being the over protective mom that brings their kid to the doctor every time they sniffle. He starts his antibiotics tonight, and I'm so excited for him to finally feel better (and for my guilt to be eased.)

Really? I didn't even hear a sniffle at his birthday party... Thank goodness for good ol Mr. Antibiotic--he'll be back to himself in 24 hours!

Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucus membranes or lining of the Para nasal sinuses. Acute sinusitis is common and is often associated with a viral or bacterial nasal infection that spreads to the sinuses. When the sinuses become blocked, they become filled with fluid producing pain and pressure. Other symptoms of sinusitis are fever, fatigue, and postnasal drainage.
