Don't worry. It's not contagious

It's an allergic reaction to the antibiotic he was on because of his double ear infection last week. We went to the doctor this morning to get it all checked out.

And here's Charlie checking out MUCH better than he's been the past few days because of a respiratory infection.

Apparently Dylan is just beginning the infection that Charlie is just finishing. So with his itchy hives, Dylan is dealing (say that ten times fast) with a fever, nasty nose and cough. He's my little trooper.

Me again (Holly Dart's friend who reads your funny blog). This is exactly what happened to my oldest son with Amoxicillin. My mother-in-law recommended an herbal remedy that is magical. My second and third boys have never been on antibiotics for ear infections. Here it is: pour some hydrogen peroxide into the ear, drain. Pour a few drops of garlic oil in, drain; then a few drops of Lobelia (liquid form), drain. You can find lobelia and garlic in bottles with droppers at any herbal store. I've given this remedy to many friends, and they are all converted. Good luck!

ouch.

Sorry, I have a correction. Don't drain the lobelia. I usually put a little cotton to plug the ear after that last step.

Oh sad! The Poor Dilskers! I had an allergic reaction once to an antibiotic and got hives too! It's awful. But much worse when it's your baby!

hi, josie, taryn here (lindsey's sister in law). she sent me this link to your blog because my baby Reese had a similar rash...erythema multiforme. that's what the doctor called it, anyway. an allergic reaction to meds (Reese wasn't on any) or a reaction to a virus...? I'm still at a loss to how she got it, but her poor little legs were covered in a nasty, purple-ish rash for weeks! (never got on her trunk, though--wierd.) she had the rash so long before we got her on meds, that it is taking FOREVER to heal. poor little thing has had the rash for going on 5 weeks. ugh. I feel your pain.

josie. i am sorry. that is miserable for everyone. you must feel wiped out. and dylan looks so sad (which is new to me) with that rash. and charlie has the sweetest face in the universe. i'm glad that they're sort of on the mend... we miss you guys.

Hey Josie! So, Will just broke out in hives last week and the doctor thinks it's a reaction to the amoxicillan he was taking for double ear infections. How long did Dylan's hives last? And, how long was he on the antibiotics before he got the hives?
