Open House

Charlie only has two more days left of second grade.  Luckily we had the chance to go to his open house before we move on Monday.

Charlie loves school and everything that goes with it...Reading, math, friends, recess, art.  There is a program at Charlie's school called 'Reading Counts.'  The way it works is every book they read is assigned a certain amount of points depending on difficulty.  A Dr. Seuss book is about 2 points, Harry Potter is about 25 points.  Once you finish reading a book, you take a test on it, and if you pass, you're awarded the amount of points that the book is worth.

Charlie's goal this year was to hit 500 points.  He did.  And much more...600 points.  In the entire school, there are only two other students who got over 500 points and they were both sixth graders.

I am SO happy that Charlie loves school as much as he does.
